How To Handle Your Guinea Pig

When ever you want to handle your Guinea Pig, these are the steps to follow:

- Approach your Guinea with a hand from the front, and place the hand around its shoulders, this will gain control of your Guinea Pig.

- With your other hand you will need to carefuly slide it under the Guinea Pigs body, this will provide support.

- When you hold your Guinea Pig, you should put it close to your body so that it feels safe and secure, it will give your Guinea Pig confidence and lessen the chance of a fall.

Do Not!:

- Squeeze Your Guinea Pig- this can cause Bruised lungs and liver damage!

- Do Not Let your Guinea Pig dangle- this could cause it to fall!

Always handle your Guinea Pig with both hands, never with just one. Your Guinea Pig needs to feel safe, secure and confident in order to build a relationship with you.
