Bathing Guinea Pigs
Bathing your Guinea Pig is very important, especially if they are dirty, smelly and have parasites.
Here you can find out:
-How often To Bath
-What You Will Need
-How To Bath
-How To Dry
How Often To Bath:
It notmally depends of the breed of the Guinea Pigs, but bathing your Guinea Pig once or twise a week sound fine. BUT- Bathing your Guinea Pig too often can cause skin problems, so, don't do so too often.
What You Will Need-
1. You will need a washing up bowl, or the sink.
2. You Will need a animal friendly shampoo, I would recomed the Gorgeous Guineas Shampoo Products, as they come in lots of different types.
3. Two Towels
4. Old Cloths (because you might get wet)
5. A Small Animal Brush
6. A Measuring Jug
How To Bath:
1. Fill the washing up bowl or sink with warm water, not too hot and not too cold! Make sure that the water level is not over the Guinea Pigs stomach.
2. Place your Guinea Pig into the water carefuly, ensuring that it does not struggle, if it does then you may get wet!
3. Fill a container with some of the water, and slowely pour it over your Guinea Pig, making sure that it does not get in its ear.
4. When wet all over, carefuly apply the animal friendly Shampoo, this is where you will need the measuring jug, Because some producs request that you put a certain amount onto your Guinea Pig.
5. Using your hands, make sure that you spread the Shampoo all over your Guinea.
6. Rince the Guinea Pig with water until all the Shampoo is off of it.
How To Dry
1. Carefuly lift your Guinea Pig from out of the Sink or washing up bowl.
2. Place it on a towel and wrap it around the Guinea Pig
3. Using your hands run it with the towel until he is only damp.
4 Swap the Towel to a completly dry one and continue you rub him down.
Then, let the Guinea Pig Continue his Day!
